Jerry Clegg has sent through the information below about the outside broadcast truck, CMCR9 being on display this bank holiday weekend:

“The heritage scanner North 3/CMCR9 will be at large again next weekend and on show at the Shrewsbury Steam Fair, Onslow Park, Shrewsbury. North 3 will be resplendent with its freshly renewed logos following a gradual wrinkling problem with the previous gold letters.

You can see details of the show using the following link :-

http://www.originalshrewsbury.co.uk/see-do/events/shrewsbury-steam-rally-2017

Do be aware that the show takes place on Sunday 27th and Bank Holiday Monday 28th August, so don’t turn up on the Saturday or you might get roped in to rigging the gazebo or the EMI 2001!

As always, we will be very pleased to meet up with any of you who can make it to Onslow Park. This is one of the best of its kind and a really good day out for everyone.”

The veteran TV OB scanner North3 / CMCR9 will be on show next weekend at the Shrewsbury Steam Rally, Onslow Park, Shrewsbury. Details may be found on their website :-

Please note that the show is not open on Saturday, but only on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. The Shrewsbury Rally is easy to find and a great day out, with something to entertain all the family, young or old!

Eric’s generator will be powering us and it is hoped to have either the EMI 2001 and/or a PC80 camera working into the scanner. Fingers crossed for some good weather!

Below is some information from Jerry Clegg about where you see the outside broadcast scanner, CMCR9, which was Pebble Mill’s original CM1, and became Manchester’s North3. The restoration of the scanner has made further progress since it was last on display, and it now has working cameras and a generator.

“North 3 will be on show this coming weekend at the Llandudno Transport Festival on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday (April 30-May 2 2016). This is a great show in a super location. The scanner will not arrive there until Saturday morning so don’t come too early or we won’t be fully rigged!

Here is a list of North 3 events for 2016 :-
