The photo is of the writer and director of ‘Run for the Lifeboat’, Douglas Livingstone.
‘Run for the Lifeboat’, was a Screen Two play, produced at Pebble Mill by Carol Parks. It was transmitted in 1988.
The BFI database describes the storyline:
“Set in a Welsh fishing village. Maggie arrives from London with her son Terry. They meet Gareth Jones, a member of of the local life-boat crew and a friendship develops, resulting in Maggie’s marriage to Gareth.”
The play starred Stacey Tendeter, David Burke, Constance Chapman, John Pickard, and Ross Livingstone (who I think was the writer and director, Douglas Livingstone’s son).

‘Nice Work’ starred Warren Clarke, and Haydn Gwynne. The series went out in 1989, and was produced at Pebble Mill by Chris Parr, and directed by Chris Menaul. The four part series was based on David Lodge’s novel of the same name, Lodge also wrote the screenplay.
The drama revolves around a university/industry exchange, which involves lecturer Robin Penrose teaming up with business man, Vic Wilcox.

These photos are from the 1989 ‘Play on One’ drama: ‘Master of the Marionettes’, produced by Michael Wearing at Pebble Mill. It was written by Guy Hibbert, directed by Pedr James, with Hilary Salmon the script editor.
The Radio Times billing read: “Teddy Rose’s passion is security – selling alarm systems to prosperous yet fearful suburban homes, one of which he and his family inhabit with conspicuous success. Then one Saturday morning a violent street encounter starts a chain of events which calls into question his every assumption and changes his life for good.”
The play starred Kenneth Cranham, as Teddy; Kenneth Colley as Tennyson; Carol Drinkwater as Maggy; John Duttine as Tim; and David Bradley as Harry.

‘Fighting Back’, was a five part Pebble Mill drama, transmitted in 1986, starring Hazel O’Connor. It was produced by Chris Parr, directed by Paul Seed, written by Gareth Jones and filmed in Bristol. It was about a mother fighting to keep her children. It also started Derek Thompson (before Casualty).
